Springfield, NY - SPRINGFIELD - Clyde Richard Goodrich of East Springfield, passed away peacefully at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, April 14, 2025 at the age of 81. He was born in a maternity home in DeRuyter, on Nov. 26, 1943. His parents were Burdette and Leona Wilcox Goodrich of Georgetown.

Clyde's education included graduating from Georgetown Central School in 1962, Morrisville State College, Utica College and Union College in Schenectady.

He taught his entire career at Springfield Central School which later became Cherry Valley-Springfield Central School. He was also a basketball coach.

Clyde was a member of the Fort Plain Beagle Club, a volunteer firefighter in Springfield and, upon retirement, volunteered for the AARP tax aide program. He was well known as a beekeeper.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Suzanne Pfannebecker Goodrich; daughter, Tracy B. Walker (Paul); and beloved granddaughter, Heather Anne Walker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gillian, Kyle and Benjamin, children of his deceased son, Todd Burdette Goodrich. He is also survived by his sister, Amy Markowski (Steve) and sister-in-law, Shirley Brooks Goodrich (Jack), several nieces and nephews and their families.

Besides his son, Clyde was predeceased by his parents and his two older brothers, Carman (Jack) Goodrich of Cuyler, and Carl Goodrich of Georgetown.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. April 22, at Ottman Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Cherry Valley. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Hawk's Cemetery, Georgetown.
