Oneonta, New York - Darla Sperry Joslyn, 85, formerly of Oneonta, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.

She was born in Johnson City Nov. 5, 1940, daughter of the late John and Jeanette Basker, and graduated from Union Endicott High School class of 1958.

She worked for many years at Grand Union in West End Oneonta and later as a health aid for several elderly people in the area.

Darla enjoyed the years raising her children in Oneonta and at Goodyear Lake. While she enjoyed keeping a cozy home, cooking, baking cookies and birthday cakes and growing flower gardens, she found most joy traveling with friends and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren, and laughing with her best friend Kathy.

She is survived by her sons, Mark and Robert Bachman; daughters-in-law, Kristina and Barbara; grandchildren, Lizzy, Molly and Gage; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and John Felice, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Gary; and husbands, Robert Chaneka, Lynn Joslyn and Roger Sperry.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family as she requested.
