Westford, NY - WESTVILLE - David L. Dresser, 94, of Westville passed away at home Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born July 26, 1930 in Albany to Lee H and Thelma (Hoag) Dresser.

Dave's family moved to Oneonta in 1938 where his interests included horses and cars. He graduated from Oneonta High School in 1948 and attended Cobleskill Ag and Tech. Dave then moved to the farm he'd purchased in Westville and built his first house. He married Mary Post of Franklin Dec. 8, 1951 and they raised their four children on the farm. Dave was very proud that he grew the farm over the next 40 plus years from five cows to 120 milking cows when he retired. While on the farm, he also worked for Eastern A.I. and continued to work into his 80s at various jobs including at the Farmers' Museum, Wells Fargo, and the Hampton Inn. He was a hard worker and a man of many talents. He built several more houses over the years, including the log home he lived in with Mary when he passed. He dreamed of flying and so he did. He obtained his pilot's license and flew his yellow and black "Bumblebee" Cessna from the Westville Airport. He later revived his interest in antique automobiles and restored several. He was especially proud of the off-frame restoration of his 1931 Chrysler. He participated in many car shows, yielding many trophies.

Dave was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert Dresser. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Marian Simpson-Rorick; son Daniel of Westville; daughter, Susan McNeilly and her husband, Harper Constable of Franklin; daughter, Jane Gomiller of Suwanee, Georgia; and son William and his wife, Maureen of Westville, along with 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as his brother-in-law, Louis Tisenchek of Oneonta and many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Carol Robertson, who went out of her way to stay in touch.

Dave chose to participate in Albany Medical College's Anatomical Gift program assisted by Han's Funeral Home in Albany. At his request, there will be no services.
