David H. Meers Obituary
GILBERTSVILLE - David Meers, 77, of Gilbertsville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024.
David was born Nov. 19, 1946, in Albany, the son of the late Thomas and Evelyn (Stensland) Meers. On April 22, 1968, he married the love of his life, Veronica Slater.
Dave lived most of his life in Gilbertsville. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he earned a Bronze Star Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster. Dave came home to the family and provided them with love and hard work. Family and friends knew they could depend on him for help when needed. Dave was employed as a Union Carpenter for more than 30 years.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Veronica "Ronnie"; son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Meers; brothers, Mart (Jennifer), Dan, Jerome (Karen), Terence and John; sisters, Christine (William) Haas, Mary (Steve) Fitzgerald, Kelly Meers; grandchildren, Meghan (Galen) Wind and Katlyn (Kyle) Meers. He was predeceased by his brother "Tommy" Meers.
As he wished, there will be no calling hours or service. The interment will be held privately.
