David R.  Carman
SCHENEVUS - David R. Carman, 88, passed away on Nov. 5, 2019 at Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta.
He was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Baldwin, the son of Clarence and Lillian (Johnson) Carman.
David graduated from Baldwin High School in 1949.
He was a United States veteran serving in the Coast Guard from 1949 to 1952.
David loved the New York Yankees. He coached Little League on Long Island and in Schenevus. He was also an officer for a youth naval sea cadet organization.
He married Joan M. Carle on May 10, 1952, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeport.
David worked for Helena Rubenstein Co. for 30 years. He was a school bus driver for East Meadow School District. He moved to Schenevus from Freeport in 1988 and was employed at Fargo Company in Milford as a security guard.
He was a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church in Oneonta and the Schenevus Young at Heart.

David is survived by wife, Joan Carman of Schenevus; son, James and Nancy Carman of Farmingdale; grandchildren, Jennifer, Timothy and John; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Ellen Dame.
He was predeceased by his parents; son, Kenneth Carman; and brother, Arthur Carman.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to the start of the funeral at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester. The Rev. Paul Messner will officiate.
Burial with military honors will follow in the Schenevus Cemetery.
Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or Atonement Lutheran Church, Oneonta.
