Burlington, New York - BURLINGTON FLATS - Dawn Marie (Mayne) Hull, 90, formerly of Burlington Flats, went to the open arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2023.

She was born on April 3, 1933, to Lowell and Helen Mayne.

Dawn married her beloved husband, Gerald Hull, on Dec. 23, 1951. He predeceased her in 1996 after 45 years of a loving partnership.

Surviving are their children, Kevin Hull (Joanne) of Oxford, Melanie Canfield (John) of Wilmington, North Carolina, Marilyn Nienart (Larry) of Oneonta, and Pamela Seabury (Bill) of West Oneonta; grandchildren, Christie Allison (Joe) of Morris, Robert Hull of Oxford; and Dawn's pride and joy —great-granddaughter, Emma Allison of Morris.

Dawn was predeceased by her parents, Lowell and Helen Mayne; sister, Anne Weiss (Richard); and brother, Herbert Mayne. Also predeceasing her were canine companions, Peanut and Fred.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with her brothers-in-law, Richard Weiss and Donald Hull (Doris).

Dawn was best known for her impeccable work ethic that was instilled in her from an early age on her parents' dairy farm, and her acute attention to detail. She was a meticulous housekeeper and always found ways to stay busy. She enjoyed running a chainsaw and cutting firewood (up until four years ago), gardening, lawn mowing, and snow blowing. She thoroughly enjoyed sliding down hill on her tube during the winter months with family and friends, and watching Syracuse basketball and Yankees baseball.

Dawn worked for Kraft Foods in South Edmeston in her early years and then became a stay-at-home mother. After her husband passed, she worked at NYCM Insurance for 10 years where she made numerous friends. Dawn will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her. She enjoyed walking daily with her family friend and neighbor, Debbie Hamm, around the block in Burlington Flats, approximately 4 miles per day.

Kevin Hull will honor his mother with a remembrance of her life at her funeral.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 15, at Burlington Flats Baptist Church, 101 Arnold Road, Burlington Flats. A funeral will follow. Interment will be in Burlington Flats Cemetery.

The family expresses its appreciation to the second floor staff at Chase Nursing Home in New Berlin for the wonderful care they gave "Aunt Dawn" during her cruel battle with dementia.
