EDMESTON - Deborah Lynn (Hall) Harrington, 70, of Edmeston, went to be with the Lord and her daughter Jennifer, on Sept. 12, 2021. She died after a long and courageous battle with MS, passing away at Bassett Healthcare after a short stay because of complications.

Debbie was born on Oct. 9, 1950, at Fox Hospital, the daughter of Stanton Hall and Joyce (Slater) Hall. Debbie and her sister Claudia were very close to their grandparents Lynn and Cora Burgess of Cooperstown, even living with them for quite a few years.

Debbie graduated from Cooperstown Central School in 1968 and went on to Albany School of Nursing to become an RN. She worked as an RN at Bassett for many years, finally becoming the assistant head nurse on the medicine floor, the very same floor where she was when she passed away. Debbie later worked as the evening charge nurse at Pathfinder in Edmeston. She loved being a nurse.

Debbie married Gary Harrington on April 8, 1978. Gary and Debbie had twin girls (Jody and Jennifer) in 1978 and later in 1985 another daughter Jenna (Kevin) Utter.

Debbie is survived by Jody and Jenna and Jenna and Kevin's children, Lucas, Dawson and Leah. Debbie is also survived by her sister, Claudia Basile (Lance MacGregor) John Basile (JR) and his wife, Jen; grandniece, Kaylee; in-laws, Charlotte Harrington, Helen Harrington, Donna (Dennis) Mumbulo and Ray (Penny) Harrington. Debbie also has many nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Mike Burgess. She is also survived by good friends, Bev Pizza and Ginny Roney.

Debbie was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Harrington; brothers-in-law, George and Roy Harrington, Larry Daniels, Wesley Bowen and Jerry Joy; and sisters-in-law, Madeline Daniels, Hilda Bowen, and Eva Joy; as well as her parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, at Delker and Terry Funeral Home 30 South St., Edmeston.

A service will follow at 2 p.m., with Certified Lay Minister Penny Harrington officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Edmeston, immediately following the service.

Donations in Debbie's honor may be made to the MS Society of America, Edmeston Emergency Squad, or a charity of choice.

The family thanks Bassett Hospital, especially the staff in the special care unit, the Edmeston Emergency Squad and the staff at the Edmeston Burlington Health Clinic.
