Dolores
ROSEBOOM - Dolores "Dodie" Clouthier, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019.
Dodie was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother whose family was always her first priority.
Dodie was born in Queens, on Feb. 10, 1931. Subsequently, the family moved to Milford, where they enjoyed having our "city cousins" visit the farm. Many happy memories were made there.
After marrying Clayton Clouthier, they opened and operated the Cottage Inn, a bar and restaurant in Roseboom. After selling that establishment, Dodie ran the food service program at the Cherry Valley Central School District and continued to do so until her retirement. Dodie and Clayte also owned and operated the Country Deli where they sold ice cream and sandwiches of all kinds. That business was on the land that the former Cottage Inn occupied. The Cottage Inn burned to the ground around 1973.
Dodie is survived by her son, Richard of Fayetteville; daughters, Victoria Bucklad (Norman) and Mary Sue Clouthier, both of Roseboom; and grandson, Garrett Bucklad (Rebecca) of Los Angeles, California. Also, honorary and close family members include Bruce and Susan Hargrove and Craig, Lindsay and Barrett Hysack.
Dodie requested that there be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Contributions may be made in Dodie's name to one's local ASPCA.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home.
