GRAND GORGE - Donald Edmund Kellerhouse Sr., formerly of Grand Gorge, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Don was born on March 21, 1933, to Harold and Elma (Brenn).

He graduated from Grand Gorge Central School.

He joined the Army in March 1953 was stationed in Germany as part of the military police before being honorably discharged in March 1955.

On May 7, 1955, he married Shirley Hinkley at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church in Roxbury.

They moved to Grand Gorge and became actively involved in the community and the Methodist church.

Don was an active Grand Gorge firefighter for 65 years and was a member of the Grand Gorge and Roxbury American Legion and became Delaware County Commander at one time.

Don and his wife were the owners of Don's Dairy Freeze in Grand Gorge and he was retired from the New York Power Authority in Gilboa.

Don is survived by his sister, Reba Brainard; two daughters, Deborah Lenze (Jurgen), and Lori Kellerhouse; son, Daniel; as well as 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and another due in August.

Don was predeceased by his wife, Shirley; son, Donald Jr.; three sisters; and one brother.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at the Grand Gorge Firehouse.
