Stamford, NY - STAMFORD - Donald Kenneth Moseman, 83, of Stamford, passed away June 15, 2025. Born May 15, 1942, in Albany, Don was the son of Arthur Debois Moseman and Winifred (McMorris) Moseman.

He lived a life marked by quiet strength, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of rural life.

He was predeceased by his brother, James Arthur Moseman, and sister in-law, Barbara (Payne) Moseman of Grand Gorge.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Constance (Danelo) Moseman; and daughter, Diana Lynn Moseman. He is also lovingly remembered by his niece, Amy Moseman Riddle, and her daughters, his great-nieces, Brianna and Alyssa Riddle, all of whom reside in Florida. Though distance often kept them apart, they always held a special place in his heart.

Don dedicated 34 years to teaching art at Roxbury Central School, retiring in 1997. Throughout his long and meaningful career, he was deeply loved by both faculty and students. His classroom was a place of creativity, encouragement, and quiet inspiration, a space where young people were gently guided to express themselves and discover their talents. He generously gave many extra hours creating artwork and elaborate props for student performances, school events and graduation ceremonies, quietly enriching the lives of others with his time, skill and care.

Beyond the classroom, Don found great joy and purpose in caring for animals. After he and his wife purchased their home in Stamford in 1972, they gradually grew what became their "not-so-mini" mini farm. Don and Connie shared a deep passion for animals, and together they built a sanctuary filled with love, laughter and life. If Don so much as hinted at an interest in a particular breed, it often seemed that overnight Connie would arrive with a list of places to find them. It was never just one that came home. Instead, it was usually a pair, and every spring the pastures were alive with the joyful presence of newborn animals.

In accordance with Don's wishes, no public service will be held. Those who wish to honor his memory are invited to make a donation to their local animal shelter or to the ASPCA in his name.
