ONEONTA - Donald Leo Webster, 87, of Oneonta, passed away on May 17, 2024.

He was born on Jan. 21, 1937, in Towanda, Pennsylvania, and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Donald was known for his friendly and knowledgeable nature. He was a devout Catholic and a bird lover. Throughout his life, he held various roles such as a Boy Scout leader, town councilman for 12 years, volunteer firefighter and emergency squad member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as a past grand knight, district deputy and faithful navigator. Additionally, he was a Jaycee member.

In his career, Donald worked at Key Bank.

He was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Oneonta and St. Joseph's Church in Zephyrhills, Florida.

Donald's hobbies included restoring religious statues in both New York and Florida, building birdhouses and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoyed traveling with Nancy to places such as Ireland, Switzerland and Scotland.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Webster of Oneonta; children, Daniel Webster of Otego, David Webster (Donna Quiter) of West Oneonta, Dale (Kathy) Webster of West Oneonta, and Donna (Andrew) Negus of Maryland; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Harold (Marianne) Webster of DuBois, Pennsylvania, Richard Webster (Yvonne) of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania; and sister, Carol (Robert) Watkins of Towanda, Pennsylvania.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at St Mary's Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta.
