STAMFORD - Dr. Michael F. Meehan, 71, of Harpersfield, passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 20, 1951, in the Bronx, Michael was the son of the late James and Barbara (Friedly) Meehan.

Michael proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 until his honorable discharge as a sergeant in 1973.

Dr. Meehan was a well-known dentist in the Stamford area. He established his practice in 1987 and served his patients until his recent retirement in 2021.

Michael was a mechanic at heart and had a passion for vintage automobiles. He enjoyed collecting restoring and allowing other people to enjoy them.

Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brother, Russell Meehan.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Meehan of Harpersfield; children, Kate Meehan of Connecticut, Tess (Brandon Hagan) Meehan Hagan of Kentucky and Russell (Kasey Rossman) Meehan of North Carolina; grandchildren, Millie Hagan, Jayden Hagan and Paxton Hagan; siblings, Wayne (Yvette) Meehan of New Jersey, Douglas Meehan of Maine and Clifford (Marianne) Meehan of New Jersey; brother in-law, Ed Dohrmann; sister in-law, Ann (Amy Hall) Dohrmann; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford.
