MILFORD - Dr. Edward T. Bello was born in Yonkers to Peter Paul Bello and Eugenia Agnes (Picone) Bello on May 17, 1925.
He graduated from Harvard University and received his medical degree from Columbia Presbyterian College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He interned at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, where he met and married Marie Chirico in 1951, when he proudly returned from his tour in Korea and World War II with the U.S. Navy.
He practiced radiology and radiation oncology in Rye.
He was a fellow of the American College of Radiology.
He enjoyed gardening, working on his home, hunting and fishing.
He and Marie were blessed with seven children, Anne Bello, Jacqueline Bello, MD, (Peter Carmel), Marietta Taylor (Charles), Edward T. Bello Jr., Susan Bello Pugliese (Sergio), Peter Bello and Bianca Bello; as well as their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Cherry Valley, with the Most Reverend Manuel L. Cruz, D.D., Titular Bishop of Gaguari and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Newark, presiding.
The Service of Committal and Burial with Military Honors will follow in Springfield Cemetery in Springfield Center.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
