Cooperstown, NY - MOUNT VISION - Edward Vincent Dawyot, Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. He was born on Oct. 13, 1950, in Queens, New York, the son of the late Edward Vincent, Sr. and Lottie (Ropell) Dawyot.

Edward dedicated his career to his work as an electrician with Wellsback Electric and was a proud member of IBEW Local 3. He was also active in his community, belonging to the Morris Men's Auxiliary and the Morris VFW.

Edward had a genuine love for exploring new places. He enjoyed traveling, visiting state parks, and spending time in museums. Known for his big heart, he was talkative, thoughtful, deeply family-oriented, and lived a simple, loving life. He was always ready to share a story or offer a bit of knowledge, and those who knew him will remember his warm and caring nature.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Kimberly) Dawyot; daughter, Dawn (Dustin) Pinder; sister-in-law, Laurie Dawyot; granddaughter, Addisyn Pinder; nephews, Kevin and Keith Dawyot; and niece, Kerry Dawyot.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Lottie Dawyot, and his brother, Gary Dawyot.

Family and friends are invited to Visitation Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home, 60 Broad Street, Morris. His family then invites everyone to celebrate his life at the Morris VFW, 314 Ellis Rd, Laurens, immediately following the visitation.
