BOVINA CENTER - Edward A. Finkenberg, 95, died peacefully early on Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017, in Delhi.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; three sons; four daughters; their spouses; and 11 beautiful grandchildren.

Edward was born on July 9, 1921, in Manhattan.

After assisting in the management of his family's furniture business, Finkenberg and Sons, he graduated from Columbia and Brown Universities.

During World War II, he served in the Navy, participating in D Day.

He was a champion of human rights, advocate for people with disabilities, innovator and entrepreneur. His children remember him as an elegant man and stoic father who encouraged them to follow their dreams with courage, integrity, and compassion for those in need. He will be dearly missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 29, at the Hall and Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Delhi. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Bovina Cemetery.
