NEW LISBON - Eleanor M. Gregory, 93, of New Lisbon, died peacefully at home on Monday Jan. 29, 2024.

She was born on Staten Island, on Aug. 8, 1930, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Anderson) Black.

She married Philip D. Gregory on June 14, 1952, in Morris. He died on July 24, 2019.

Eleanor spent her life enjoying and creating beautiful things. She loved to plant flowers and always had bouquets or a yard full. She passed on her amazing artistic talent; drawing, watercolor painting, weaving and especially knitting. She was a prolific knitter of sweaters and hats. One of her greatest joys was to cook a delicious meal for family and friends.

Eleanor was a 70+ year member of the Jewel and Laurens Chapter of the Eastern Star and was a past matron and district grand officer. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian, Florida, and attended the United Methodist Church of Morris.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Mark (Debra) Gregory of Virginia, Terri Gregory of New Lisbon, and Andrea Gregory of New Lisbon; grandchildren, Dan (Veronica) Gregory of Virginia, Commanders Carleigh (Dave) Hartmann of Virginia, Ryan Gregory of Florida; and great-granddaughter, Genevieve, of Virginia. She is survived by a special nephew, Robert (Mary) Black of Iowa; two nieces along with great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Robert Black Jr.

A graveside memorial service in Mount Vision Cemetery, Mount Vision, at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 18, will be officiated by Lay Minister Penny Harrington.
