Meridale, NY - COOPERSTOWN - Eleanor "Ellie" Ann (Tripp) Jersey, 96, passed March 26, 2026 in Cooperstown.
Born in Elmira on Sept. 14, 1929, she was the daughter of Claude and Grace (Hill) Tripp, and oldest of six siblings. At 14 Eleanor moved to Meridale, a place she would call home for much of her life and where she met her husband Glenford. They were married in January 1947 and raised three children on their family farm.
Surviving are siblings, Charles Tripp and Joyce Brandt; children, Suzanne Bahr and George Jersey; grandchildren, Laura Bryant, David Luquer, Billy Jo Bahr, Samantha Bahr, Bethany Arnold, Mindy Nigh and Stephanie Jersey; and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Glenford, she was predeceased by siblings, Mary Utter, Robert and Richard Tripp; daughter, Katherine Scofield; and granddaughter, Amanda Wait.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Meridale Community Church, Meridale.
