OTEGO - Ellen Marie Hewlett, 74, of Otego passed away peacefully Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.

She was born Sept. 15, 1950 in Jamaica, Queens the daughter of Lawrence and Eleanor (Kelleher) Perry.

Ellen graduated from Delaware Academy, Class of 1969.

In 1976, Ellen met William Hewlett and they were married June 26, 1976 at the Otego Presbyterian Church.

Ellen enjoyed going and visiting with friends, playing BINGO, cards and games. She loved and was proud and fiercely protective of her five kids, Jason, Daniel, Joel, Joshua and Sheri.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband, William Hewlett; five children, Jason Hewlett, Daniel Hewlett (Dominique), Joel Hewlett (Tommica), Joshua Hewlett and Sheri Hewlett; three grandsons, Julian, Yisra'el and Malekai; brother, Paul Perry (Pat); two sisters, Marianne Johanson and Kathleen Jaeger (Jon); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Tommy, Stephen, Michael and Larry Jr.; two nephews, Stephen and Anthony; one niece, Tammy; and one brother-in-law, Jeff Johanson.

Family will greet guests beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29 at the West Oneonta Baptist Church. A Christian service to follow at noon followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall.
