Evelyn Virginia Salamone Obituary

ANDES - Evelyn Salamone, 83, died peacefully at her home in Andes, on Aug. 26, 2022.

Evelyn was an amazing mother and dedicated wife. She touched many lives throughout her 83 years, and she did it with a smile and unconditional love.

She always looked at the glass half full, never half empty. Gentle, loving, patient, accepting, optimistic, generous...just to mention a few. She loved life, enjoyed spending time with family, coloring, cooking, watching The Golden Girls or CSI, and crocheting. Evelyn dressed with many bright colors, lots of earrings and ALWAYS with a bow in the hair. She was loved so much by so many.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Vincent; son, Vincent Salamone, daughter-in-law, Aurora; daughter, Antoinette Salamone, daughter, Christine Mohlenhoff, son-in-law, Bill; daughter, Grace Bacon, son-in-law, Eddie; daughter, Kristine Bartolo, son-in-law, Sal, daughter, Monique McKenna, son-in-law, Shawn; daughter, Tara Salamone; and several beloved and cherished grandchildren.

Evelyn was predeceased by her son, Joseph; and two grandsons, James and Gabriel.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, with a luncheon to follow at Delhi Alliance Church. Feel free to honor Evelyn by wearing bright colors, flashy earrings, and flowers or ribbons in your hair. She never did like black.

Donations may be made in Evelyn's memory to Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse), to honor her love of Christmas and of children, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
