San Antonio, TX - SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Florence (Flossie) Barber Aldrich was born at Chase Hospital in New Berlin to William L. Barber and Alice Daniels Barber in 1943. She died Sept. 15, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the youngest of four children. All of her siblings, Albert Barber, Dora Carr and Howard Barber, predeceased her.

She married Wayne Aldrich and they had two children, Kenneth Aldrich and Sharon Haher. Kenneth and Flossie's daughter-in-law, Villa live in San Antonio, Texas. Sharon and Flossie's son-in-law, Donald, live in Albany. Flossie's grandson, Darryl, lives with his family in North Carolina. Her granddaughter, Hannah, lives with her family in San Antonio, Texas.

During high school Flossie worked at a dress factory in Oneonta, then at A. O. Fox Hospital in the admitting office and at Agway Petroleum in New Berlin. She retired as a bookkeeper for Kraft Foods in South Edmeston.

After retirement she helped take care of both her mother and mother-in-law until their deaths. Then she traveled to all the United States on this continent. She spent 20 winters in Arizona, where she enjoyed sewing and crafts.

Flossie belonged to Triple "O" Travelers, a National Camping Travelers chapter of campers. She and her friends worked hard to have successful rallies over the years.

Flossie is survived by her husband (Wayne); children, Ken and Sharon; grandchildren, Hannah and Darryl; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marian Barber, many nieces, nephews, cousins and great-grandchildren.

Flossie was a kind, courteous and helpful person. She is greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Laurens Presbyterian Church, 3 Main St., Laurens.
