Ft Myers, FL - FT MYERS, Fla. - Frances Anna Brezee Clark Stevens, born Feb. 10, 1930, in Oneonta, to Anna (Darling) and Carlton Brezee, died peacefully at home Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. Received by the Lord, she joyfully reunites with all who have gone before her and finds eternal peace.

From the young age of 3 and growing up on her Grandma Darling's family farm in Hubbell Hollow, she learned the value of hard work, perseverance and many invaluable lessons she carried throughout her life.

Frances attended a one-room schoolhouse until the eighth grade. In 1943, she moved back to Oneonta and graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1947. She met and soon married James R. Clark. Frances juggled work and family life, tending to four young children. Her marriage ended in 1967, and she moved to Ft. Myers, Florida. She married Harley Bruce (Steve) Stevens in 1969. She was especially proud of her 30 years of service at Lee Memorial Hospital.

Frances traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and all seven continents which included many countries including New Zealand, China, Russia, South Africa and so many more. She continued to seek new adventures, even skydiving at age 82. Despite moving to Southwest Florida and her widespread travels, Frances maintained a deep connection to her roots and returned often to visit family and friends, cherishing her ties to Hubbell Hollow.

Frances's passion for genealogy drove her to trace her family's roots to the American Revolution and beyond, allowing her to join the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Education was a lifelong dream for Frances. In August 2011, she graduated from Rasmussen College with an Associate's degree in criminal justice.

Frances is survived by her children, Susan Gregory (Allen), David Clark (Christine), and Jonathan Clark (Barbara); grandchildren R. David Hodges, Heather (Gregory) Thomas, Carey (Clark) Hicks, Lisa (Clark) Langton, Stephanie (Clark) Masciola and Stacie (Clark) Harvey; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her stepchildren and step-grandchildren, all of whom she loved as her own.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Jean Ann (Clark) Hodges; grandsons, Robert and Harry Hodges and granddaughter Erin (Gregory) Conrade.

Billy Rosine became a devoted caregiver tending to her daily needs. In her declining heath his presence allowed Frances to spend her final days at home.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Matthew Stevens, Frances's grandson. His unwavering support and devotion were her inspiration, from holiday celebrations to their simple lunch dates and many spontaneous trips. In her final moments, he gently held her hand as she quietly slipped away.

In accordance with Frances's wishes, there will be no formal services. Her ashes will be placed near where she grew up in Hubbell Hollow.

Frances Anna Brezee Clark Stevens lived a full and remarkable life that few could only dream of. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
