Frank W. Bovee Jr. Obituary

DELHI - Frank Walter Bovee Jr., our beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, and longtime resident of Delhi, went to be with his loving Savior on Dec. 12, 2022, at Albany Medical Center in Albany.

He was the son of the late Frank and Gertrude (MacFarlane) Bovee.

Frank was born on March 18, 1934, in Norwich, graduating from Norwich High School in 1952.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from his enlistment in 1953 until his honorable discharge as sergeant in 1956.

After serving his country, he came to Delhi and became a Scoutmaster. He joined the Boy Scouts of America at the early age of 8 years old, being honored with many awards throughout the years. While he was known by those he helped he wanted no recognition and would prefer to serve without others knowledge.

Frank was married to Carol Bovee in 1962. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Brenda (Dale) Mertz and Pamela (Alan) Hilliar; two grandchildren, McKenzie Carroll and Ethan Hilliar; and sister, Susan Bovee Miller.

Frank was predeceased by his brothers, John W. Bovee, David F. Bovee and James L. Bovee and sister, Donna Herrick.

He will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Delhi Community Church at 46378 State Hwy 10, Delhi, NY, or Boys Scouts of America (Troop 33) by mail to Donna Roach at 6059 Elk Creek Road, Delhi, NY 13753.

His well-lived life will be celebrated with calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Delhi Community Church.
