Gail Nicolina Tallman
COOPERSTOWN - Gail Nicolina (Davi) Tallman, 69, entered through the gates of heaven on Aug. 25, 2019, after a long and valiant battle with chronic lymphomatic leukemia.
Gail was born on Oct. 10, 1949, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Frank Sr. and Gloria (Russo) Davi.
A graduate of Worcester Central High School in the Class of 1968, Gail thereafter met and married the "love of her life," William "Bill" Tallman on July 25, 1970, at St. Mary's "Our Lady of the Lake" Roman Catholic Church in Cooperstown. Bill and Gail recently celebrated their 49th anniversary.
A 20-year "Navy wife," she was completely dedicated to God, country and family.
She was an active member of the Cooperstown Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Gail was a devoted mother of two children, Michelle Marie (Tallman) Fiedler of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jon Dylan Tallman of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a loving grandmother of eight, Amber-Lea, Grenade, Thomas, Stephanie and Kimberlee Fielder, all of Texas and Dylan, Brandon, and Justin Tallman, all of Virginia; and a great-grandmother of two, Mason and Cohen Fielder both of Texas.
In addition, Gail owned and operated "Ms. Gail's Daycare" in both Bucyrus, Ohio and Milford, where she influenced, molded and guided many young lives before becoming an in-house "nanny" for several families.
Gail was predeceased by her parents and by two sisters, Linda (Davi) Schoenberg and Theresa Davi.
She is survived by her loving uncle, Joe Russo of Hamilton, New Jersey; her siblings, Frank Davi of Antioch, California, Nicolina Davi of Henderson, Nevada, Joseph Davi of Homer and Anthony Davi of Oneonta. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, James Tallman of Cooperstown; her sister-in-law, Colleen (Tallman) Walrath Hollister of Palatka, Florida; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Gail's wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
For those who so desire, the family suggests donations in Gail's memory be made to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a local Relay for Life.
