STAMFORD - Gary William Bright, "Fuzzy Jr.," a lifelong resident of the Stamford area, passed away on Thursday Sept. 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Born on Oct. 28, 1963, in Walton, Gary was the son of Lyle "Fuzzy" Bright and Frances (Kosier) Hoyt.

After graduating from high school at Stamford Central School, Gary enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from 1981 until he was honorably discharged as a senior airman in 1985.

Gary began work at the New York Power Authority in 1992 and was employed there until his retirement in 2020.

On June 17, 1984, Gary married the love of his life, Donna (Bohlander) Bright. They were happily married for more than 38 years and raised their three beautiful children together.

Gary enjoyed riding his motorcycles, working on carpentry projects and tending to his tortoises.

Gary is survived by his wife, Donna Bright; children, Jesse (Amanda) Bright, Julie Bright and Michelle Bright; granddaughter, Peyton Bright; as well as his three half-siblings.

He was predeceased by both of his parents.

Gary's life will be celebrated from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at the VFW Hall in Stamford, where military honors for Gary will be accorded at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family will accept potted plants to be used in a memorial garden at their home.
