Oneonta, New York - ONEONTA - Gary Kendall Loucks, 78, of Oneonta passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Bassett Hospital.
He was born Dec. 14, 1946, the only child of Vera (Leigh) Loucks and Kendall F. (Scrappy) Loucks.
Gary graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1965. In Oct. 1966 Gary served in the US Army during Vietnam War with the 1st Infantry Division until Dec. 1967. In Oct. 1969 Gary began working at the Oneonta Police Department until Feb. 1991 and he retired in June 1991 as a Sergeant after 21 years of service.
Gary would like to send a special thanks to, Kathy, Todd, Stacia, Noah, Steve (Louie), Mark (Sid), Deb, Dave and Jan. This is all Gary has to say!
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 20 at Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 4 to 6 p.m. It is Gary's request that all those in attendance dress in casual attire.
