MORRIS - Gary B. Rous, 74, of Morris, passed away peacefully at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022.

He was born on June 30, 1948 in Otego, a son of the late Brewster Sylvester and Mildred Zula (March) Rous.

Gary married Cheryl R. George on Dec. 13, 1981 in Oneonta. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1974. Gary was an active member of the Morris VFW Post 1417.

Gary enjoyed working on old Ford cars, hunting, fishing and four wheeling.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his children, Kevin (Kim) Rous, Daniel Rous, and Kristie (Martin) Willix; his stepchildren, Michael (Megan) Swift, and Tammy (Joel) Swift; grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Jordan, Kaleb, Logan, Zeithan, Matthew, Miles, Maverick, and Margo; great-grandchildren Ellie, Jackson, and Jaiden; sisters, Fay (Sonny) DeJoy, Rose, Linda (Charles) Sweet, and Sandra Harkenreader; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and VA friends.

Gary was predeceased by his brother Kevin Rous and granddaughter Erika Rous.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Morris VFW Post 1417, 314 Ellis Rd., Laurens, with Military Honors taking place at 1:30 p.m.
