Gerald R. "Gerry" Clark Obituary

MERIDALE - Gerry Clark, 80, of Meridale, passed away at home and went to be with His Lord Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.

Gerry asked the Lord if he could make it to his birthday on Oct. 17th when he would turn 80, and was granted that prayer request.

He was born to Robert and Clara (Hymers) Clark on Oct. 17, 1944 in Delhi. He attended Delaware Academy. Gerry was drafted into the Navy and served at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Alameda, California. Later, he took the electrical course at SUNY Delhi, and was employed there as an electrician, and retired from there as an electrical supervisor.

Gerry worshiped at the Tabernacle of the Congregation for more than 40 years and was part of the worship group playing his beloved banjo.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Phyllis; daughters, Bethany (Kurt) Rendleman of Henderson, and Jessie Clark of East Meredith; sister, Sylvia Wilbur of Downsville; and a niece and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Gertrude Clark and Nancy Sackett.

At Gerry's request, there will be no calling hours, and a private family burial. There will be a celebration of life service, sharing and meal that will be announced at a later date.
