Helen Ackler COOPERSTOWN - Helen Ackler, 93, of Cooperstown, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Otsego Manor. Born March 25, 1920, Helen was the daughter of Joseph and Julia (DiBiagi) Carnicelli. She was raised and spent her life in the Oneonta and Cooperstown area. She married James Ackler in 1958. She was predeceased by her husband; and by six of her siblings, Larry Carnicelli, Josie Norton, Rosie Kreck, Al Carnicelli, Primo DiBiagi and Phillip Carnicelli. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Carnicelli of Otego; her sister, Mary Sparaco of Oneonta, her sister, Lena Chase of Lake George; and her brother, Paul Carnicelli of Alaska. Graveside services in Mt. Calvary Cemetery will held in the spring. For those who so desire, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326. Arrangements are under the guidance of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
