ONEONTA - Helen D. Collison, 89, of Oneonta, formerly of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1933, in Franklin, the daughter of Arthur W. and Eva M. (Jackson) Dumond.

She married William "Bill" Collison on Jan. 2, 1954. He predeceased her on Jan. 30, 2018.

A lifelong area resident, Helen was employed by Franklin Central School and Riddell Brothers for many years as a secretary clerk.

She was involved with many groups and organizations in the area including the Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed bowling on local leagues. For several years, Helen and Bill enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

She survived by sons, James Collison of Morris and Jack and Nancie Collison of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Mary (Mike Suggs), Tyler (Catherine Juliano), Shane and Kimberly (Thomas Carey); and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Sonny, and Ruby.

A graveside committal service will take place at the convenience of the family in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Aldrich Baptist Church, North Franklin.
