MARYLAND - Hilda I. Knapp, 98, passed away peacefully at her home Aug. 7, 2024.

She was born Jan. 26, 1926 in Oneonta, the daughter of Frederick and Ethel (O'Brien) Ploutz.

Hilda married Harry W. Knapp on March 20, 1947 in Pleasant Mount, Pennsylvania.

She was employed at Astrocom in Colliersville for 10 years.

Hilda was known for her crafts, crocheting and afghans, and enjoyed caning chairs and antique renewal with her husband.

She is survived by her children, Harry Jr. and Gail Knapp, Edward and Dianne Knapp, Donna Knapp, and Donna and Gary VonBrock; grandchildren, Rochelle and Dwain Knapp, Terri Bronson, Matthew and Annie Knapp, Andrea and Randall McGregor, Melinda and Lawrence Bobnick, Brian and Sandra Knapp; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Sawyer, Eryn, Mellissa, Ryan, Devon, Carter, Reanna, Kendall, Andrew, Madeline, Griffin, and Varick; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry W. Knapp Sr. on April 30, 2000; her siblings, Ivan, Richard, Frederick and Dorothy.

Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker officiating. Burial will follow in the Schenevus Cemetery.
