UNADILLA - Irene V. Palmer Johnson, 98, of Unadilla, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Norwich Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1925, in Rockdale to Charles Berton and Clara (Keach) Matteson.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, Addison Palmer and Robert Johnson.
She was a member of Unadilla Center United Methodist Church, its Polly's Circle, Unadilla Grange, and Eastern Star.
The retired SUCO secretary was also a former employee of Keith Clark and dairy farmer.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mae (Norman) Schmidt, Sherburne; son, Lynn (Lorrie) Palmer, Fairhope, Alabama; three grandchildren, Jeffery Palmer, Michael (Rebecca) Palmer, Mark (Andrea) Schmidt and daughter, Maranda; along with four great-grandchildren, Grant, Samantha, Cadin and Macy; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, at Unadilla Center United Methodist Church, at 11 a.m., Thursday, will be preceded by visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. The Rev. George Gallandorm will officiate. Burial will be in Unadilla Center Cemetery.
