Oneonta, NY - ONEONTA - James L. Hill, 84, passed away peacefully at his home among loved ones on March 11, 2026.
He was born Nov. 11, 1941, in Worcester, the son of Harold and Beatrice (Campbell) Hill.
Jim was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1965 to 1966, and was a decorated sharpshooter.
He was employed by the City of Oneonta and found great joy in woodworking, building, and spending time in his flower garden.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Cleveland) Hill; children, Susan and Jim Anderson, Jessica and Ray Chambers, Tom Foster, Ray and Beth Foster, and Dee and Jim Reece; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Steven Hill and Gene Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, James Hill, and six siblings.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
