Jacksonville, Florida - JACKSONVILLE - James T. Vaughan, 87, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on March 18, 2025 with his daughter at his side.

He was born Feb. 18, 1938 in Oneonta, son of Woodrow W. Vaughan and Beatrice (Dibble) Vaughan.

He graduated from Oneonta High School in 1956. He went off to graduate from Delhi Tech with an AAS in Applied Science in Construction Technology. He was also in the US Army National Guard and earned the rank of Sergeant.

He married Patricia Ann Lee on Sept. 20, 1959. They were blessed with a son, Timothy M. Vaughan, who predeceased him, and a daughter, Caprice C. Vaughan. Patricia went to see the Lord on Oct. 16, 2003.

He married Sylvia L. Lee on April 20, 2008. She went to see the Lord on June 12, 2021.

James was employed for 36 years with the NY State Department of Transportation, in the engineering department.

Jim liked to spend time taking walks, riding his bicycle, and wood carving caricature characters. He is survived by his daughter, Caprice C. Vaughan; grandson, Shawn Patrick Vaughan; and two great-grandchildren of Salina, Kansas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

At Jim's request there was no funeral service. A celebration of life was held at his church.
