ONEONTA - James W. Hanford Sr., 73, of Oneonta, passed away peacefully at Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich, on Nov. 30, 2016.
James was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Oneonta, the son of Orrin W. Hanford and Phyllis McLean Hanford of Oneonta.
He was formerly employed by Oneonta Oil and Fuel in Oneonta.
He is survived by sons, James Hanford Jr. of Estill, South Carolina and Mark Hanford of Schenevus; daughter, Angela Forsythe of Hurbert, North Carolina; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Hanford. Also, surviving are Nicholas, Amanda and Andrew Hanford; Ruth (Percy) Decker of Syracuse; sisters, Hetty (Jack) Adams of Cooperstown and Ethel Gardner of Goodyear Lake; and grandchildren, Michael, Sierra, Patty and Desiree. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
James was predeceased by his parents.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service at this time.
