Jean K. Thering, Feb. 20, 1929 to Sept. 12, 2023 and Ferdinand G. Thering, Nov. 21, 1927 to Oct. 8, 2024.
The following words are meant to be a tribute to parents who taught us what it means to be a family.
Dad has just received his 'rest-reward' for a race well run,
Having been parted from Mom but a year in the past 71.
We are grateful to God for entrusting them with our birth,
As they have been our treasures here on earth,
Blessing us with a rich legacy, founded in diligence, dedication, and dignity,
Producing the bounty of memories now stored in our family tree.
When Ferd Thering and Jean Kellan were united,
A business mind and a green thumb were melded into a relationship that was never divided.
Early life on the farm taught us responsibility, that hard work bears good fruit,
And that the need to persevere together through trials is an absolute.
Over time, spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have been joyfully added to the tree,
Growing leaves of love on the branches exponentially!
By their example set, may our gatherings, traditionally centered around our 'table-time,'
Continue through the generations, with the sharing of food and fellowship, hearts and minds....
