RICHMONDVILLE - Jeannette Elaine Hviid (Armao), 76, of Mud Lake Road, Richmondville, died Friday, June 23, 2023, in Cooperstown, following the long term effects of spina bifida complicated by dementia.
Born on May 9, 1947, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Arne and Dorothy (Reussman) Hviid.
She attended high school in Bayshore, Long Island, but moved and graduated from Richmondville Central School in 1965. She lived in Schoharie County her entire adult life.
Jeannette worked in retail and ended her working career as an insurance agent with the Donna Lavigne Agency and later with Hughson and Benson.
She was a member of First Summit Baptist Church in Charlotteville.
Jeannette enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and singing.
She is survived by her five children, Kirsten (Steven) Brown of St. Albans, Vermont, Sigrid (Roger) Gural of Summit, Steven (Karen) Armao Jr. of Worcester, Peter (Heidi) Armao of Worcester, and Michael (Lisa) Armao of Worcester; brother, Warren Roy Melby; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 14, at First Summit Baptist Church, 385 Baptist Church Road, Charlotteville.
