Joan H. Brooks, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at Robinson Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stamford.
Joan was born in Yonkers, on March 30, 1939, the daughter of the late Harry and Ann (Loehr) Hutchens.
Joan graduated from Gilbertsville Central School. She was employed as a seamstress at Norwich Shoe Company and later Sanyo in Oneonta.
She enjoyed square dancing, shopping, and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa DeBari of South Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, William and Lorraine Hutchens of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Sheila Murwin of South Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her companion, William Bryden; sister and brother-in-law, Caryl and George Klingman; and son-in-law, Fred DeBari.
Services will be private at the convenience of her family. She will be buried at a later date in Union Church Cemetery in East Sidney.
Her family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
