ONEONTA - Joan M. Keator, 72, passed away Dec. 19, 2024 at home with her family by her side.

She was born Jan. 16, 1952 in Oneonta, the daughter of Angevine and Mildred Keator.

Joan went to nursing school at BOCES in Milford. She worked at Bassett Hospital, A.O. Fox Hospital and O'Connor Hospital.

She is survived by her son, Jason Saggese of Laurens; grandchildren, Athena, Kyla, Beau, and Delila all of Laurens; siblings, Deborah Burton of Oneonta, Betty Wamsely of Oneonta, Angevine Keator (Judy) of Maryland, Roberta Briggs of Schenevus, David Keator of Indiana, Rebecca March (Leland) of Otego, and Lisa Keever (Russell) of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Saggese and her parents as well as a few other family members.

To honor Joan's wishes, there will be no services. A spirit of a life will be held in the spring with place, time, and date will be announced at a later time.
