EAST WORCESTER - Joanne H. Fisher, 79, passed away quietly at home with her family Nov. 30, 2024.

She was born Jan. 21, 1945 in Oneonta, the daughter of Burdette and Minnie (Roe) Gallup.

She was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Worcester Central School, Class of 1963.

Joanne married William J. Fisher on Nov. 7, 1964 at the East Worcester United Methodist Church.

Joanne was always there for others and was truly loved. She was the proudest grandmother. She enjoyed making holidays and birthdays special for all who were there, especially for her children, granddaughters, nieces and nephews. She was known for spreading joy, and lit up a room when she entered. She was the life of a party with her warm personality. By the end of the evening she would have talked with everyone in attendance, never missing the opportunity to enjoy the company of others.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, William Fisher; daughter, Stacy Reed of Ormond Beach, Florida; son, Bill (Jenifer) Fisher of East Worcester; grandchildren, Shyana Marie Fisher, Kiarra Lea Fisher and Malena Joanne Fisher; sisters, Priscilla Davis and Bunnie Lou Hand; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Burdette Gallup.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.
