Oneonta, New York - ONEONTA - John Hartley Conrade, 86, of Oneonta passed away Jan. 9, 2026 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home.
He was born March 23, 1939 in Watertown, son of the late Hartley E. and Jewell C. (Shirley) Conrade.
John enjoyed going to the diner for coffee and dinner, driving truck and talking on his CB radio. He will be remembered for his one-liners and being able to tell a good joke.
John is survived by his seven children, Gary, Marc, Randy, Keith, Kenny, Francine and Charlene; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, David Vadney. He was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Kingsbury, Sandy Vadney and Tina Oliver; a great-niece and a great-nephew.
At John's request, there will not be any services at this time. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Susquehanna SPCA, 5082-5088 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326, in loving memory of John Hartley Conrade.
