ONEONTA - A memorial service and celebration of life for John G. Cronk, who passed on April 12, 2024, will be held Saturday, June 22. The 11 a.m. memorial service will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 307 Main St. Franklin. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life and luncheon will take place at Open Doors United Methodist Church, 475 Main St., Franklin.

The son of Gladys and Frank Cronk, John was born on Aug. 22, 1938, in Mt. Kisco.

He married Kathryn (Kay) Briggs in 1962.

A graduate of Franklin Central School, John served in the Army National Guard. He returned to FCS in 1965 for a 30-year career as transportation supervisor.

Remember John from where you knew him —family, friendships work places, community participation, church, manicured property, motorcycling, gas engine hobby, high school basketball team, master mechanic, fishing, snow bird.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; daughter, Natalee (John) Denard (Connecticut); grandsons, Tim Denard (Connecticut), Sam Denard (Connecticut) and Ben Denard (California); sister, Frances Robinson; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Cronk and Judy Cronk; and many nieces and nephews.

John's son, Jeffrey John Cronk predeceased him in 1984. His parents; brothers, Douglas Cronk and Howard Cronk; and brother-in-law, Lynn Robinson also predeceased John.
