Meredith, NY - MEREDITH - John Thomas Mudge, 63, passed away on Aug.15, 2025 in Meredith. Beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandpa, coworker, and friend.

John held many jobs over the years, including most recently with the maintenance department at A.O. Fox Hospital, but he would want to be remembered for his extracurriculars - talks at the horseshoe pit, waking up before the sun to help prepare Christmas dinner, darts, art, reading, music, motorcycle riding, and above all any and all antics. He always had a listening ear. He made friends anywhere and everywhere. He always knew what to say to get everyone to laugh. He was loving and sincere.

"Don't ruminate on the past, especially regrets. And don't worry about the future. Focus on the good things you have right now. Like a warm house, a roof over your head, food in your belly. Every night, go to bed thankful. You deserve to be happy. Good things will come." - John.

A celebration of life will be held at 1p.m. Oct. 5 at Kirkside Park, Barn Pavilion.
