DELHI - Joyce Sanderson Manning passed away March 5, 2025.

Born the second daughter of William and Ida (Edwards) Sanderson on Feb. 4, 1943 in Delhi, she graduated from Delaware Academy in 1960, and attended SUNY Oneonta. Joyce married the love of her life, Gary Manning, Aug. 31, 1963, and was blessed with Sherri Lyn whose children are Amber Telian Powers (Taylor), Thomas Telian and Ryan Telian (fiancée Andrea Kelly); and Michael William (Kelly) whose children in South Carolina are Karsyn Manning Haven (Hunter), and Will and Emily Manning. Joyce's great-grandson, Ezra Powers, was a special delight.

She was predeceased by her parents and younger sister, Dorothea (Sanderson) Wilklow and is survived by her older sister, Shirley (Sanderson) Warren. Special acknowledgements are extended to nieces, Stephanie Wilklow Nicholson, Heather Wilklow Rosa, Laural Warren, and nephew, Brian Wilklow.

The Delaware National Bank in Delhi had the good fortune of Joyce's employment for 26 years. During retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them participate in sports. Joyce cheered loudly for the Georgetown basketball Hoyas, exercised at Curves and Silver Sneakers, reveled with the Red Hatters, served as a Red Cross volunteer, and read all of James Patterson's novels.

Joyce was a 65-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi, having served as a deacon in the 1990s.

Per Joyce's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. A private interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.

Donations in Joyce's name will be welcomed by the First Presbyterian Church, 4 Clinton St., Delhi, NY 13753 and/or the Woodland Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 183, Delhi, NY 13753.
