Oneonta, NY - ONEONTA - Karen L. Ort passed away Aug. 21, 2025. She was an independent spirit, generous and kind to her family and friends.

Karen lived and worked in the Oneonta area for 57 years. She made every event she was part of a special occasion. She was an exceptional cook, gardener, and decorator. A talented silversmith and caterer, Karen also worked in the antique business and was a real estate agent.

She loved being in nature and traveling; Montana was a favorite destination.

Karen leaves behind her sister, Diann Moseson, and Diann's husband, Marshall; brother, Glenn Ort, and his wife, Victoria Wasiel. She is also survived by her nephew, Matthew Ort, his wife Caroline, and their son, Rowan.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
