ST. JOHNSVILLE - Karl Glenn Sorensen, 60, of St. Johnsville, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022.

He was born July 7, 1961, in Plainfield, New Jersey, the loving son of Harold Peter Sr. and Theresa Sorensen and was the middle child of seven sons.

His early childhood was spent in the hamlet of Stelton, New Jersey, (Edison Township) until moving to the Sorensen homestead in Morris, where he attended Morris Central School.

Karl was a gifted arborist, artist, house painter, and singer/guitarist. He was the former owner and operator of Big Top Tents in St. Johnsville.

Karl enjoyed nature and the great outdoors along with his hobby of mining Herkimer diamonds.

Karl was a loving father to his daughter, Eliza, who meant the world to him. He was a kind son, loyal brother, loving uncle, caring friend and free spirit.

Karl was predeceased by his father, Harold Peter Sr.; brothers, Harold Peter Jr. and Raymond Sorensen; and nephew, Christopher Sorensen.

He is survived by his daughter, Eliza Sorensen and former wife, Jessica Guerriero of St. Johnsville; mother, Theresa Sorensen of Morris; brothers, David Sorensen (Sheryll) Greenbrook, New Jersey, Frank Sorensen, Morris, Alan Sorensen (Jane) Rock Hill, Christian Sorensen (Dale) Memphis, Tennessee; and sister-law-Susan (wife of Harold Jr.). He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, listed oldest to youngest, Christine Winkler (Rob), Melisa Gomez (Mike), Bjorn Sorensen, David Sorensen Jr. (Melena), Kevin Sorensen (Crystal), Maximie Sorensen, Justin Sorensen, Andrew Sorensen, Jaclynn Sorensen, Mykayla Sorensen, Sara Sorensen, and Shawn Sorensen; and great-nieces and nephews, Gina Winkler, Gia Gomez, Michael Gomez, Joey Gomez, Kira Sorensen and Xena Sorensen.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
