Kenneth A.  Vibbard Sr.
BURLINGTON FLATS - Kenneth A. Vibbard Sr., 88, of Burlington Flats, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, in Cooperstown, surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth was born on Jan. 18, 1932, in Oneonta, the son of the late Wesley P. and Martha Drake Vibbard.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Velma B. Vibbard; and son-in-law, Wayne Bennett.
He is survived by sons, Kevin (Kirstin) Vibbard of Sherburne, Kenneth Vibbard Jr. of Utica and Kyle (Kim) Vibbard of Sidney; daughters, Deborah Vibbard of Cortland and Kathy Bennett of West Winfield; grandchildren, Kristi Vibbard, Austen Bennett, Briana (Scott) Brown, Kevin Vibbard Jr., Patrick (Kate Deshaw) Vibbard and Nathan Vibbard. Also surviving him are several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A lifetime resident of the area, Ken graduated in 1950 from Cooperstown Central School, where he excelled in athletics.
In June of 1953, he married Velma. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before her passing in 2019. In 1956, he and Velma bought their Burlington Flats dairy farm, which they operated until their retirement in 1996.
Ken was a member of Burlington Green Baptist Church for more than 60 years and served as its deacon for many of those years. He was also an assessor for the Town of Burlington for many years and he was on the Fly Creek Milk Co-Op Board of Directors.
Ken was an avid fan of the LA Dodgers, and Boston Celtics.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Delker and Terry Funeral Home, 30 South St., Edmeston. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Barry Davis, of Burlington Green Baptist Church, officiating.
Spring interment will be in Burlington Green Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ken may be made to Burlington Green Baptist Church, 2225 County Highway 16, Burlington Flats, NY 13315.

I feel so sad to have lost such a wonderful person. He was a great dad. husband, neighbor, relative and a community member. He sure was a wonderful role model . We spent many hours playing cards and visiting while our kids played. We will all miss him.
