Born on June 29, 1945, in Olean, the son of the late Kenneth and Christina (Strong) Chichester Sr.
At an early age his love was raising, training and showing horses. He lived with his family in Middleburgh before moving to the farm (Melody Stables) in Stamford.
After graduation from Stamford Central, Skip worked for General Electric in Schenectady.
He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1965 and served for 11 years and was honorably discharged with the rank of SSG E6. During this time he also worked for NYSDOT.
In 1966, he married the love of his life, Lucy, at the Stamford United Methodist Church.
In 1967 Skip joined the Stamford Fire Department, serving for 21 years. When first joining the department, he was one of the original EMS members. Following the time in the department, he served on the board of fire commissioners for several years.
Some of Skip's other accomplishments included 4-H Leader, Hunter Safety Instructor, Boy Scout Leader, being a skilled marksman and welder and many years of truck driving. He enjoyed being with family and friends. NASCAR was a favorite to watch, being that racing was in the family.
