GILBERTSVILLE - Laura F. Winton Hall passed away Oct. 13, 2024 at Chase Nursing Home, New Berlin.

She was born in Sidney Jan. 16, 1932, the second daughter of Harry Winton and Elida (Nichols) Winton. She lived in Gilbertsville her entire life and attended Gilbertsville Central school where she met the love of her life, Clinton Hall, Sr. They were married Aug. 22, 1953. Together, they weathered several deployments, enjoyed 65 years of marriage, and had seven children. She took considerable pride in being a Marine wife.

She is survived by their children, Clint (Kelly) Hall, Jr., Bob (Sherry) Hall, Deb Swinford, Rich (Annette) Hall, Linda (Charlie) Marble, Sandy Marble and Mike (Cindi) Hall; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Clinton, Sr.; sister, Marion Turner; brother-in-law, Raymond Turner; nephew, James Turner; nephew in-law, Carl Burk; sisters-in-law, June Haydu, Mae Hall, and Kay MacCloskey-Jones; sons-in-law, Donald Marble and Eddie Swinford; nephew, Edmond MacCloskey, and niece, Dr. Cynthia Fiucci.

Laura cleaned houses and worked as a school custodian. She was a woman of faith and read the bible daily. She was a member of the Gilbertsville Presbyterian Church, Butternut Valley Grange, American Legion Post 1339 Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star. Laura loved to read, do puzzle books, bake in the sun, and play cards. She made delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and zucchini bread, which she gave to her grandchildren at Christmas. She always looked forward to parties and would insist on giving a gift to everyone in the family at Christmas. When she was younger, she would attend school and sporting events for her children and grandchildren.

Calling Hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at the First Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Gilbertsville, will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville. The family would like to thank Chase Nursing Home for taking care of Laura for the last three years. Her caregivers said she was a dream patient-always smiling and never complaining.
