Cobleskill, New York - COBLESKILL - Lawrence Wollaber, 66, of Mineral Springs Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family at his side.

Born April 5, 1955, in Rome, New York, he was the son of Forest and Winifred (Roberts) Wollaber and stepson of Joan Wollaber.

Larry was a 1973 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School.

He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and had worked as a Schoharie County Correctional Officer and most recently a New York State Court Officer in Cooperstown.

He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying and cultivating the land in Summit and passing on his respect for nature. His enjoyment of the outdoors led him to hunt, snowmobile and camp with his family and friends and take long walks in the woods with his dogs.

A wonderful family man and a phenomenal dad, Larry was a premier jokester, often playing pranks on his children and their friends.

Cherishing his love and memories are his wife, Jeanette (Rickard) Wollaber, who he married on Nov. 1, 1980; two children, Steven Wollaber of Rome, and Sara Wollaber of Cobleskill and her daughter, Emmi; siblings, Bruce (Debbie) Wollaber of Summit, Pam Wollaber of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Mary Ann (Kenneth) Wollaber-Bryan of Cobleskill, Douglas Terrell of Atlanta, Georgia, and Stephanie (Craig) Jock of Cobleskill; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Steven.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St. Cobleskill.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, with his cousin, the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery. All in attendance need to wear face coverings.
