Lila Mae (Bloodgood) Conro Obituary

GRAND GORGE - Lila Mae (Bloodgood) Conro passed away on July 23, 2016, at the age of 90.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1925, in Stamford, to Edward and Florence (Hyatt) Bloodgood.

Lila lived in Washington Heights in New York City until age 8, when they moved back to Stamford.

She married Wilfred Howard (Sonny) Conro on Nov. 27, 1949, and they lived their 34 years of married life in love in Grand Gorge. They had many wonderful friends.

Sonny predeceased her in 1984. Her sister, Rita Marsala Proper, predeceased her in 1985.

In later years, Lila enjoyed taking trips and visiting many places with the senior citizens club through which she also made friends.

Lila loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Nothing was more was more important to her than family. She will be remembered with love by her daughters, Cherie (Charles) Serrie and Chris (Lori) Burgher; grandchildren, Joe (Alicia) Serrie, Jennifer (Novel) Taite, Stephen Burgher, Shane Burgher, Katelynn Collins-Hall, Jennifer Collins-Hall; great-granddaughter, Sophie Claire Taite; several nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

She was a member of the Stamford VFW and Ladies Auxiliary, as well as the Grand Gorge United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123; Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231; your local animal shelter or a favorite charity of one's choice.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, under the direction of William A. Tari.
